Matthew Corozine
Artistic Director, Acting Teacher/Coach and Director, SSDC
As human beings we are held together ONLY by the strength of OUR word.
Matthew Corozine believes that you can create your own life. With this in mind (and heart) Matthew has created the MATTHEW COROZINE STUDIO THEATRE; an acting studio rooted in The Meisner Technique, in New York City, now in our 7th year. The Matthew Corozine Studio Theatre is part of a vision and dream Matthew has for his students - to be working actors and have a home to build their craft - an honorable craft.
In NYC, Matthew Corozine and his acting studio have produced and directed over 15 productions. Favorites include The Maiden's Prayer, by Nicky Silver, off-Broadway at The Beckett Theatre, Theatre Row, NYC (2005), John Patrick Shanley's, The Big Funk (2002), and Paul Zindel's dark comedy, And MIss Reardon Drinks a Little (2001).
As a teacher, Matthew has taught acting at American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYC) and taught acting and improvisation at SUNY Purchase. He has Guest Directed at St. John's University (Queens), and Directed 25 graduates from The Neighborhood Playhouse in their 2003 November showcase.
Matthew has a BA in Theatre Arts (concentration in Acting and Directing) from SUNY at New Paltz, and has continued his training in the Meisner Technique with Robert X. Modica at Carnegie Hall Studios in NYC. He has appeared in many commercials, NYC theatre productions, national tours, and independent films.
Matthew is thrilled about the expansion of the studio and looks forward to continued artistic growth. Also a member of SSDC (Society of Stage Directors and Choregraphers).
