ADVANCED MEISNER with Matthew Corozine

MCS010_edited.jpg

Matthew guides each student through the art of listening, to go past their “stories” and hidden blockages, to be completely present in each moment. The space belongs to the student – each actor is empowered to go beyond what stands in their way to being a fully expressed artist.

THURSDAY NIGHTS

from 6:30-8:30pm

“Learn by doing!” Improvisation is an essential component in the actor's tool box. It has been defined as the art of acting and reacting, in the moment, to one’s surroundings.  This is a fun, high energy Improvisation acting class which engages every student on every level. It is designed to stimulate spontaneity and creativity through improvisation exercises, theatre games, and unscripted scene work. The class is structured to cultivate the actor’s innate skills. Students will develop basic and advanced acting skills, including: Sensory recall, concentration, emotional investment, subtext, diction, body control/awareness, blocking, timing, and “living in the moment”. Students will learn to use their body and voices effectively on stage and to interact naturally without self –consciousness. They will also learn the necessary techniques that place them on the path toward dynamic, creative and believable acting! With a “Whose Line is it Anyway?” vibe, this is certainly an uplifting, fast paced, “risk and respect” fun class where you are free to be YOU!!

Once-a-week, for 4 consecutive weeks: $120

Single class: $35

NOTE: Current MCS Meisner students receive a discounted rate of:

Since 2016, April has been the Director of Global Partnerships at Design Miami, overseeing both fairs in Basel, Switzerland, and Miami, Florida. Prior, she was the Director and Co-Owner of Magen H Gallery in New York City exhibiting Post-war French decorative art, sculpture, and ceramics for over ten years. During her time at the gallery, She produced the acclaimed publications: Art et Industrie: A New York Movement and La Borne 1940-1980: A postwar movement of ceramic expression in France. She has been a student of Matthew Corozine since 2002 and is excited to be a part of MCS’s expansion to Miami in 2021.
