On-Camera Audition Workshop

An intimate and intensive 4 week dive into the preparation and experience of the on camera audition. This class is geared toward actors pursing professional work in film and television. Participants will present their work to the class in front of camera and monitor. Material is provided each week, but actors are welcome to bring their own sides.
Workshop created and taught by Tony-nominated actress Amelia Campbell (Janis Joplin in “Love,Janis”, The OA, Law & Order) and actor/director Anthony Arkin (The Americans, Sneaky Pete, upcoming feature film SENDER).

Amelia Campbell landed her first professional role at age 16, graduated Syracuse University with a BFA in drama, and three years later was on Broadway in her Tony nominated role of Duckling in Our Country’s Good. Since then she has been on Broadway 5 more times, and has been blessed to play roles such as Hannah/The Night of the Iguana; Arsinoe/The Misanthrope (Ivo Van Hove, dir.) Abbie/Desire Under the Elms (Janos Szasz, dir.), and Janis Joplin in the rock extravaganza Love, Janis.
On camera Amelia has worked with some of the greatest talents in film, including George Miller, Barbet Schroeder, Spike Lee, Ron Howard, Jeff Bridges, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ed Norton and Steve Martin. She’s played brain injured mom’s, kidnappers, cops, junkies and religious fanatics. She plays the wife of a suspected serial killer in the up-coming Netflix show “Mindhunter.”
Amelia has been coaching students in all mediums since 2005. She co-created the audition workshop “What’s Stopping You?” with Jack Doulin, at HB Studios where she has taught numerous on-camera classes. Amelia and Anthony created the groundbreaking on-camera/on-set workshop “Being On Camera” in 2010. They are currently teaching at Primary Stages.
Anthony Arkin has been acting in theater, film and TV for 30 years. His most recent credits include The Americans, Sneaky Pete, Person of Interest and Madoff. He is also a film director and editor. He is currently in post production on SENDER, his 2nd feature.
Since 2010, he’s been teaching acting for camera, with his partner Amelia Campbell.
