THE WRITERS' BLOCK
Writers’ Block returns for the fall with another 8-week Class with Haley Rice with 2 spots left!
Price: $150
Meeting dates:
10/8, 10/15, 10/22 (week off)
11/5, 11/12, 11/19 (week off)
12/3 and 12/10
All meetings will be on ZOOM Sunday nights from 7-11pm EST.
This is a hybrid class/writers' group, so it's a balance of sharing work, offering Haley's take on structure and storytelling, and opening it up to the group for feedback. Please bring 5-10 pages of your play/screenplay or 2500 words max of prose to our first meeting. You have the option of emailing the pages to Haley 24 hours before we meet for extra feedback, or submit them the day-of. We'll take the first few minutes for intros, our projects/goals, talk about guidelines for feedback etiquette, and then we’ll jump right in!
What is a typical session like?
The group will submit their pages for our weekly meeting, then during our ZOOM session writers will cast the roles of the piece (or assign people to read out loud if it's prose) amongst our classmates. After reading them aloud, Haley will give feedback, and then open it up to fellow writers. It's a fun, constructive, safe space to develop a piece of writing.
If you are interested, reach out to reserve your spot by Sunday Oct. 1st! Email Haley at haleyrice88@gmail.com to sign up or with any questions you have!

The Writers' Block
The scariest thing about writing isn't facing the blank page, it's showing other people what you've created. The Writers' Block was formed to provide community, to be a place where writers could be held accountable, and to help take that fear away. The original Writers' Block Accountability Group formed in February of 2020 is still going strong with most of its original members, and some new.
If you have something to say, then come unblock on The Writers’ Block.

Haley Rice
Haley Rice (Messy Stars Productions, Samuel French OOB Finalist) will lead Writers’ Block in an 8-Week Accountability Session culminating in a staged reading that will showcase an excerpt of every writer’s work.
This is a great way to flesh-out that idea you’ve had on the back burner or polish that piece you created a while back that’s been collecting dust. Bring in 8-10 pages weekly to hear aloud and get the feedback you need to take your work to the next level.
